Cottage Visitor Comments

2017-2010

Had again a great time in Dairy Cottage. Made trips to the numerous nice beaches, watched dolphins from New Quay and puffins on Skomer Island. All in all a perfect stay which will be repeated.

Thank you Frances for a fantastic short break. Don’t want to go home. The cottage is immaculate and has everything we could possibly need. We love the stable door in the bedroom giving access to the decking and lawned area. BBQ and swing chair – lovely touch! The fishing trip you recommended with EAC Fishing in New Quay was amazing. Both the mackerel & the shark fishing. Strongly recommend visitors to go on the trips. We will be back very soon. p.s. never slept so well.
John, Katy, Harry & Jack; Derbyshire – 29 May 2017

We have had a fantastic stay. The cottage is lovely, the weather picked up and we were able to enjoy the garden for BBQs. The children had a great time playing in the garden, bat watching and we were able to use our telescope on some cloudless nights. We had lovely days out to Dinefwr Castle, New Quay, Newcastle Emlyn, Dolaucothi gold mines and the beach at Mwnt is breath-taking!

We have had a lovely stay at the cottage, the beds were very comfortable. We have enjoyed playing badminton in the garden. We can highly recommend the sunset dolphin trip to New Quay. The children particularly enjoyed body boarding at Llangranog beach. We also visited Fishguard to hear some jazz at the festival and then see the carnival. It has been a lovely holiday.
The Hutchings family, Kettering, Northants – 22 August 2017

I love this cottage. It is very cosy and snuggly. Whoever comes here I hope you have fun. We loved New Quay and the honey farm. Thank you Frances and David. From Ivy, age 6
Familie Desespringalle: Antoine, Gwyneth, Ivy & Iris xxx ; Sheffield - 3 August 2016

Very clean, spacious & cosy cottage with lovely garden & beautiful views. The community shop and Mill a short walk, left out of cottage. Nice trail walk from Paddlers Club, over bridge to left, passing shire horses and straight to swimming baths. Days out to Fishguard (1 hour), New Quay – lovely! (30 mins), Poppit Sands (30 mins) and great city day in Swansea (70 mins). Nice restaurant in Mumbles overlooking seafront, great marina, Maritime Museum and Waterpark LC2. No signal for mobile so we used WhatsApp and WiFi here until midnight. Water pressure for showers brilliant - better than at home! Had BBQ in garden and Frances has all equipment in shed. We recommend boat trip from New Quay at 6pm trip – we saw many dolphins up close. Loved it .. the wildlife, trails and especially the lovely people we met.
Kim, Kev & Morgan; Chester - 22 August 2016

The cottage is very peaceful and comfortable and we enjoyed our days here so much. Time passed too fast and we would like to stay longer. We spent one day on the Welsh Coast Path between Aberaeron and New Quay (wonderful), went by boat dolphin spotting (only one too far away!) and explored Llansteffan Castle at Anton’s 19th birthday. Thank you very much, Frances - hope to get the chance to come back one day.

We had great holidays and enjoyed a lot. Very well maintained and managed, Mrs Frances, and thank you for everything. My parents from India came here for first time and they just loved it. Definitely see you in summer. Kids friendly home. Love, xxx

Une impression d’étre á la maison. Très bien.
Marie Claire & Daniel Mantecar, Querqueville, France – 28 February 2015

Thank you, Frances! We had a wonderful few days, wish we could have stayed longer! Tresaith beach & New Quay were brilliant for pottering around - Tresaith has a waterfall, sand, rocks. A great castle day is Castell Dinefwr and Carreg Cennen near Llandeilo – both are spectacular. Take a torch as Carreg Cennen has a very deep dark tunnel through the cliff. Also on the way is Talley Abbey, fantastic 12th century ruins.
From Jonah (9): It’s a very nice cottage because it’s next to a river. Also it has a very good garden. Lots of attractions to keep you occupied.
Lucy, Chris, Jonah, Zach & Sasha; Oxford – Easter 2015

Visiting friends & family in the UK after 30 years in Australia and tracing some Welsh family names in the area. We love old houses too and have been to see some country estates locally, even dropped in Alltyrodin Mansion although their Open Day for the house & gardens is not until July. Lots to see and do in the area and we’ve been all along the coast of Cardigan Bay, to St Davids & the gold centre at Tregaron. It’s been a lovely visit.
Derek & Lynn Taylor; Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia – 22 May 2015

We had a very pleasant and unforgettable stay in this cottage. The area is breathtaking all around. Thank you, Frances.
Qualitel team, Gdansk, Poland – 28 June 2015

From Safiyah (13): Lovely warm and clean cottage. Very spacious. I especially loved the garden swing and the cosy beds. Recommend Llangrannog and Penbryn beaches. Hope to come again soon. Thank you very much, Frances!
Abu Lubaynah, Birmingham – 24 August 2015

It is a wonderful location and was close enough to the temple at Skanda Vale where we wanted to go. It was a very relaxing weekend and very good time spent with the family. Thanks to Shilpa & Vishnu for finding and booking this place. We will certainly tell other friends!
Veena & Manju, Maidenhead – 26 May 2014

Great short break. The hedges were full of columbine and various pink wildflowers. Had good day at Talgarreg Trotting Races & Aberglasney. Found some of the best produce money can buy for a self caterer. Cottage was beautifully clean. Wyliau yn dda!
Leggetts, Surrey - 11 June 2012

The perfect location for our holiday on motorbikes. Clean & comfortable cottage. Warm after great rides out.
Julie, Mark, Nick & Gillie; Nottingham - 14 September 2012

We felt very spoilt from the start, how lovely it was to arrive to a warm inviting cottage, with a bottle of wine & fresh daffs left out for us. Our daughters (3 and 6 years) have loved every minute, they loved exploring your beautiful garden. We visited Cilgerran castle (a real fairy tale castle!), the National Trust Llanarchaeron estate (loads to do there) and Aberystwyth beach for fish & chips. We highly recommend Dairy Cottage and hope to return. Thank you Frances & David.
Victoria, Andrew, Neve & Amelie; Notts - 21 February 2011

Extremely well kitted out cottage in immaculate condition. Not bad weather given its a bank holiday week in British summer! Places we would recommend to visit: 1) Cenarth waterfalls and village - easy walk for anyone, really pretty waterfalls and village to potter around. 2) Aberaeron: gorgeous place! Harbourmaster lovely for lunch and The Hive for coffee overlooking the water. Kids love it as they can try to catch crabs! Thank you for a great week.
Karen, Andy & Amelie; Bristol - 26 August 2011

Even in winter this is a comfortable, cosy, wonderfully equipped cottage. Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (Llanelli) was excellent. For foodies Y Polyn Restaurant is a treat, but not for slimmers! Llandysul butcher has fantastic local beef & lamb. Stunning seafood from Swansea indoor market near Quadrant Centre).
